Find out what's happening in the city. Below is a list of current news releases.
Azle City offices will close November 26-27 for Thanksgiving Holiday. For Police/Fire services, call 817-444-3221, or 9-1-1 in case of emergency. Water/sewer related emergencies, call 817-444-3221. CWD will NOT run their regular Thursday garbage route.
Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG), the residue left over from cooking meats such as bacon that hardens after it cools, can cause problems when poured down the drain and clog pipes in your home. Did you know that FOG can also clog the sewer pipes under the streets that take the wastewater from your house to the treatment plant? If that happens, the wastewater can back up and come to the surface and pollute the environment. This can allow untreated sewage to run into the streets and into our storm drains. This is not only a human health hazard but, since storm drains flow to creeks and rivers, this can cause significant environmental damage and impact aquatic life forms. Watch the video from the link below for additional information. [Additional info...]
Leaves are beginning to fall; and we'd like to remind you that our garbage provider, CWD, will collect no more than 10 bags of leaves on your second collection day, along with your regular garbage. Any bags of leaves over that amount will not be picked up until your next second collection day. This is necessary for them to be able to stay on schedule and collect your garbage on your designated day. If you have any questions, please contact Community Waste Disposal at 817-795-9300.
